Who hasn’t had KFC cole slaw? It’s a must when enjoying their fried chicken! Their version is super sweet. More sweet than tart. And this dressing fits the bill!
Talk about super easy!
I purchased some coarsely shredded cole slaw from my market. Super easy, right?
Then I combined the dressing ingredients. The key to this is letting the ingredients combine and thicken. Make the dressing in the morning. Leave in the fridge for about 8 hours. You won’t believe how much it has thickened!Â
Then you can dress your cole slaw ingredients. Put in the fridge for a couple hours and you have cole slaw reminiscent of KFC. Now if you want to be truly authentic, you have to cut the cole slaw ingredients really fine. I would take the coarse cole slaw and chop with a knife, as I have only seen the very finely shredded cole slaw.
Pour all over your shredded cabbage and combine. It is optional whether to put celery seeds or not. KFC’s does not have the seeds in it. It’s entirely up to you.
So, the next time you make pulled pork sandwiches, pile some on for added flavor and crunch. Cole slaw is great for picnics, side dishes, or all by itself!
