I got to thinking the other day, the recipes my Mom used to make when we were kids.
I remembered Apple Dumplings and then remembered an apple recipe made from Pillsbury Crescent Rolls.
So, I started to search for the recipe. I assume it originally came from one of those Pillsbury cookbooks you would see at the check out. Whatever happened to those anyway?
I saw a lot of recipes, but then came across the Pillsbury version. Who else to trust for the original recipe than Pillsbury?
This version has Sprite, 7 Up or any lemon/lime soda in the recipe. I thought was weird as most of the recipes I saw do not mention soda.
But, who am I to question?
So I followed the directions to the “T”.
This recipe is so easy and so delicious its hard to believe.
Everyone has made Crescent Rolls.
All you do is add a chunk of apple to each crescent roll and roll up.
Place in a greases 9 x 13 baking pan.
Combine brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon.
Pour all over crescent rolls.
Add the lemon/lime soda just to the edges or in the middle of the rolls. Do not pour over the crescent rolls!
Bake at 350 degrees F for 33 to 36 minutes.
The results are amazing and hard to believe this recipe was so easy!
