Grandise Amaryllis

I always buy a new Amaryllis variety or two every year. This year I purchased a Granise Amaryllis. I can’t believe the deep red color of these and the size! When they say Grandise, they are not kidding!
When I get a plant this unbelievable I can’t wait to share it!

These blooms are a whopping 7-8 inches wide! And the color is like none other!

I bought this bulb from Bulb and Blossom website. They have them potted or bare bulbs. I bought the potted one. It comes in a all weather wicker reusable planter with soil and Spanish Moss on top of the soil. It even comes with a personalized stamped wooded ID stake!

I am going to let them grow through the Summer and at the end of Summer, bring them into a cool place and let them sleep for about 6-8 weeks, and then bring them out for blooms for Christmas. You can bring them out later for later blooms. Because of when I purchased them, they are blooming for St. Patrick’s Day this year instead of Christmas.

I just looked on their website and the bulbs are on sale! I’m going to purchase the Grandise Amaryllis Collection, which includes four different types of the Grandise bulbs all different colors. Blossom Grandise, Grandise Fantasy, Happy Grandise and Lemon Grandise. These bulbs are from N.L. van Geest Amaryllis in the Netherlands.

The bulbs are 30/32 size.

You won’t believe the size and quality of these bulbs!

No matter when I order these I pot them and let them grow and bloom. I cut the bloom stems and water and fertilize like I would a house plant. Then put them in to sleep about 6-8 weeks before you want them to bloom.

These also make great Christmas gifts or Thanksgiving hostess gifts!

They even have Amaryllis support stakes to support your tall Amaryllis plants. Reusable year after year and height adjustable.
