Boston Baked Beans

I love baked beans. Especially Boston style, with lots of molasses. I don’t have the patience or like the quality of baked beans made from uncooked beans, so decided to try and make these beans that my sister in law used to make.
It’s Super Bowl Sunday, and thought I would make BBQ ribs and immediately thought of these beans.

They are made from canned beans (I use Goya Great Northern Beans) and add finely diced onion, molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, prepared mustard, real maple syrup, water and uncooked bacon for the top. Who doesn’t have these ingredients on hand? I always have canned beans on hand as many soups, stews and recipes call for beans.

What do I need to make this recipe?

Canned Great Northern or other small white beans
Onion
Molasses
Brown Sugar
Ketchup
Prepared Mustard
Real Maple Syrup
Water
Bacon Slices

Can even the most novice cook make these?

Yes, Yes, Yes!

It is as easy as:

Rinsing the canned beans and placing into a baking dish.

Adding the onion, molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, maple syrup and water. Mix together.

Top with uncooked bacon slices.

Relax and bake.

These baked beans are perfect for cookouts in the Summer, sports parties, or potlucks. Super easy to make, super easy to reheat and delicious. If you love Boston Baked Beans, you will love these beans!
