Description
This spiced honey is perfect for putting on oatmeal, adding to tea or anything you like adding honey to.
Ingredients
2 vanilla beans, split lengthwise, seeds scraped and reserved (see note 1)
10 or so whole cloves
2 tsp. orange zest
16 ounces honey
Instructions
Sterilize jar or jars along with tight fitting lids in simmering water for 10 minutes. Let dry. (See note 2)
In a saucepan heat honey just until warm.
Place vanilla beans and reserved seeds, cloves and orange zest in jar(s). Top with honey. Secure lid. Rotate jar to evenly distribute ingredients.
Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Notes
I made with cinnamon sticks instead of the vanilla beans because of cost. You can use either.
I put them in those tiny Ball canning jars because I made for gift giving. You could use larger jars if they are for your own use.
Recipe can be halved if just making for yourself.
